Run Tucson joined partner Empire Ranch Foundation and the Bureau of Land Management for the inaugural Empire Ranch Run.
This event, held at the Historic Empire Ranch on Las Cienegas National Conservation Area on Saturday, January 24, 2026, featured a 5K, 10K, and family run. Over 600 runners participated and enjoyed the demonstrations/displays depicting ranch life and the history of the Historic Empire Ranch. It was the perfect start of the Empire Ranch Foundation’s yearlong 150th anniversary celebration.
Event Day Ranch Activities for the whole family included:
- Branding demonstrations (on leather!)
- Cowboy Clothing, Hollywood vs. Reality, with a discussion of the 52 movies and TV shows filmed at the ranch
- Docent-Led Tours
- Leather Bag Lacing for Kids
- Reata Making
- Roping
- Saddle Selfie Station
- Plein Air Painting
