Empire Ranch Trail Ride
The Foundation sponsors occasional group Trail Rides,
exploring the Empire Ranch landscape on horseback. Departing from Empire Ranch Headquarters on Las Cienegas
National Conservation Area, each ride lasts 2-3 hours through some of the most
spectacular scenery in the state. The
morning ride begins at around 9am, returning to the Empire Ranch Headquarters
for lunch. Enjoy a Ranch House Tour, lunch & friendship in the historic
Stone Corral. An afternoon ride begins at around 1pm. Trail
ride participants may bring their own horse or reserve one from the Empire Ranch
Foundation. Ride both in the morning and the afternoon, or choose between
the two rides. Experienced and novice riders are welcome! For
folks just relaxing around the Headquarters, there are free house tours and
exhibits, and lunch, refreshments and Empire Ranch souvenirs for nominal
cost. The April 17, 2010, Trail Ride was a grand success. A specific date for the next sponsored Trail Ride is yet to be set, but keep an eye out for a notice in the future, and plan to join us!
