The Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale began 13 years ago to raise funds for the preservation of the historic Empire Ranch Headquarters. With great appreciation to our sponsor, Northern Trust, this juried art exhibition & sale has grown in stature to also become a premiere art show, featuring established and emerging artists specializing in Western art.  Chaired by Laura Davis, the art show is named "Empire 100" to reflect the number of pieces selected for the show.  Images of artworks selected for the 2013 Show will be available on this website after December 22.

The Featured Artist for the 2013 Empire 100 Western Art Show & Sale is the nationally recognized Artist, John Solie. The body of work that John Solie has created in a career spanning over 40 years is beyond impressive!  His work can be seen in a wide variety of venues, from shows to museums, sculptures to magazine covers, movie posters to book covers. His legendary skill for depicting "dead-on likenesses" of famous people has kept John in demand by major Hollywood movie studios, television networks, book publishers and magazine editors. Virtually every popular magazine in print today has printed an illustration or cover created by Solie: Reader's Digest, TV Guide, The Saturday Evening Post, People Magazine and Golf Magazine to name a few. A talented sculptor as well as illustrator and portrait artist, Solie was commissioned by CBS Television Network to create a bronze sculpture of "the most trusted man in America," Mr. Walter Cronkite, which is on display in the lobby of the CBS Building in New York.
